Diablo 3 Review for PS4: A Hauntingly Good Experience

Blizzard's Diablo 3 has finally made its way to the PlayStation 4, bringing with it a wealth of dark fantasy action and addictive gameplay. As a long-time fan of the series, I was eager to dive in and see how the game would translate to Sony's console. In this review, we'll take a closer look at what Diablo 3 has to offer on PS4.

First off, let's talk about the visuals. While the text may be small – particularly if you're looking at the Switch's screen – I didn't run into any problems with legibility. Using a Pro controller is definitely recommended, but the default Joy-Cons do a serviceable job in a pinch. When it comes to the actual gameplay, Diablo 3 looks great on PS4.

One of the few graphical compromises that stood out was how some details washed out in the zoomed-in character screens. However, this is a minor quibble and doesn't detract from the overall experience. What's more impressive is how well the game runs on the hardware, whether played portable or docked. I didn't experience any distracting slowdown or graphical hitches during my playtime.

But what about co-op? Diablo 3 is at its best when played with friends, and the PS4 version delivers. In four-person local co-op, the game remained rock solid even as we filled the screen with a necromancer's herd of skeletons, a witch doctor's army, and a crusader's barrage of spectral hammers.
